    Veterinary Services Centre

The Veterinary Services Centre, located on the south side of the campus, is a new purpose built facility available for teaching and research purposes, with an additional commercial component in some areas. The facility consists of a reception area and office, eight consulting rooms, a store, and the hydrotherapy suite. The eight individual consulting treatment rooms are used by veterinary nursing, veterinary physiotherapy and animal behaviour students. These can be opened to form four larger 9.5m x 4.5m rooms to be utilised for lectures and seminars, giving the ability to accommodate teaching of the larger Short Courses groups. Two of the adjacent consulting rooms have the ability to provide a total black-out function, and are identical, which is sometimes necessary in behavioural research.

The hydrotherapy suite is a state-of-the-art room with the benefit of both a pool and a canine underwater treadmill. The pool is fitted with underwater cameras projected onto large television screens above, and the treadmill has glass sides allowing viewing from all angles. This enables students to observe movement patterns underwater that would otherwise not be visible. The suite is open to referral cases from the local area.

Force gait analysis plates and a covered walkway to the rear, are also present for research purposes. Students will also be able to practice clinical skills such as bandaging, positioning for radiography and preparation for surgery in a professional, supportive environment.
