    Collaborative Simulation Laboratory

The Collaborative Simulation Lab is led by Dr. Marcelo Precoppe, a Reader in Engineering. This pioneering facility integrates Participatory Design and Multiphysics Simulation to tackle real-world agricultural challenges.

The Collaborative Simulation Lab is a hub for cross-disciplinary collaboration, bringing together researchers, students, and industry partners. Its mission is to revolutionize technology development by involving end-users—such as smallholder farmers and rural enterprises—directly in the design process. Through virtual prototyping and advanced simulation techniques, the lab optimizes technology solutions before physical prototypes are produced, ensuring greater relevance, affordability, and sustainability.

The lab’s approach is instrumental in addressing a wide range of agricultural challenges, from postharvest practices to the creation of new equipment and machinery. With a focus on technology adoption and its alignment with the specific needs of users, the lab fosters innovation that is both impactful and readily applicable.
