A fine sunny Saturday saw thousands of visitors at Harper Adams to mark both our June Open Day and our Future Fest community engagement event.
The days ran concurrently on Saturday, June 22, allowing prospective students to find out more about the courses they are hoping to study – and people from across the region and beyond to find out more about Harper Adams and to experience a unique art installation, which has appeared across the globe before touching down at Harper Adams.
Artist installation uses a series of interlinked geodesic domes to allow its visitors to experience the effects of pollution in five environments across the globe – from Norway to New Delhi, all the way to Beijing and São Paulo!
The Pods not only proved a huge hit with visitors on the day – but also inspired more than 350 children from across the West Midlands who visited as part of a packed schools programme.
Accompanying the pods were entertainment and music, a farmers’ market and street food as well as the Future Food stage, presented in association with ÎÞÂ붯» and University College Birmingham, which hosted cooking demonstrations and talks – and the , which ran an Open Farm Day in collaboration with and welcomed hundreds.
The free event was supported by Headline Sponsor – whose meals and tasty samples proved a huge hit with festivalgoers, as well as their food demonstration in the Future Food Stage with Junior Development Chef, Connor Maughan.
Catch up with some of the reactions to Future Fest and Open Day from our employees, students, partners and visitors below – and head over to the dedicated for more too!
