    Crop Protection

    This course is part of a recognised Higher Education Level 7 module that can become part of a Postgraduate Award including a Postgraduate Certificate, a Postgraduate Diploma and a Masters Award.

    This course will allow work-based postgraduate students to develop high level problem solving skills while advancing specific technical knowledge. Students will learn through a range of approaches including taught sessions, practical sessions and through problem solving activities to enable them to develop into advanced practitioners.

    This course will be applicable particularly to the potato sector and professionals in crop science e.g. senior agronomists.

    This unit will allow you to:

    • Identify pests, weeds and diseases encountered in potato production and evaluate the opportunities for integrated control strategies.
    • Formulate crop protection plans for sustainable potato production.
    • Evaluate the impact of crop protection strategies on food safety, operator safety, natural resources and biodiversity.
