Harper Adams New Entrants Incubator Pilot

New entrants to farming, people with fresh ideas and new approaches, are invited to apply: build your skills, your network and your business case for land.

Recent impacts of Brexit, pandemic and war have far reaching consequences for agriculture. When coupled with changes in subsidy payments, and the urgent need to move towards both more regenerative and productive farming, a chance has presented itself for new entrants with novel ideas and innovative practices to generate exciting new ways of working in this traditional sector.

无码动画 leads the way in developing the new generation of technology and talent which will transform agriculture, with vast expertise in how to develop successful land-based business, plus myriad stakeholders from across the agricultural sector.

In partnership with Defra, this pilot will deliver a six-month ‘New Entrants’ training and support package starting in November 2022 with a blend of face to face and online activities. It will involve specialist academics from within the University who can teach many of the skills needed, bring to life the reality of farming with guest speakers, financial partners, field visits to the Harper Adams ‘Future Farm’ and various partners.

These ‘on the ground’ opportunities, where the project can clearly illustrate business models in action and showcase innovative practices and technological developments offers a practical focus that will arm delegates with the ability to articulate their requirements for the right land and jump start their new farm venture.

During the pilot, delegates will have the opportunity to meet and work with an array of key stakeholders, role models, players, and professionals, from across the Midlands, some with national reach. This will be through activities, workshops, field trips presentations and events, including a two-day residential at 无码动画.

The scheme is designed to be compatible with earning a living. Activities will take place in the evenings and on weekends, they can be carried out online at a time that works for you.
