Julia is a behavioural ecologist lecturing in Wildlife Conservation and Environmental Land Management in the Department of Agriculture and Environment, 无码动画 (HAU). She is Chair of the Environmental Sustainability Farm Group which supports the farm in a environmentally sustainable transition to carbon Net Zero and contributes to the following HAU research groups: Centre for Crop and Environmental Science (Soil Thematic Group) and the Sustainable Agri-Food Systems Group. She is Chair of Severn Trent’s Get River Positive Campaign advisory panel and sits on the North Shropshire Farmer’s steering committee. She has extensive business and project management experience and led and secured funding (PEF) for a significant and innovative project, the Paludiculture Innovation Project (PIP) at HAU. Her role in the PIP is to ensure successful KE of research and best practice and to explore opportunities for enhancing biodiversity within a farmed landscape mosaic. Her research interests include behavioural adaptation (particularly of birds and mammals), the functionality of ecosystems in the context of climate resilience and One Health; and the relationship between farms transitioning to carbon Net Zero and biodiversity. She is part of the HAU Bird Group and Academic Advisor to the Shropshire Mammal Group. She is involved in a number of projects including the Old River Bed, beaver reintroduction by Shrewsbury Town Council and Shropshire Wildlife Trust.
